Administration and Executive Support

Office Manager: Shannon Cleave Shannon supervises the Administration Team and provides executive support to the Board. She coordinates the activities of the Receptionist, Accounts Officer and Advocacy Coordinator. Shannon also takes care of all the staff computer, building access and telephone troubles.
Accounts Officer: Amy Holden Amy is in charge of the WSU staff members’ accounts, paying the bills and sending out invoices. She prepares periodic financial reports and offers her services to preparing the yearly budget. All incoming and outgoing financial sums are supervised by her.

Receptionist: Annie Lloyd The face of the WSU, Annie commands the front counter and handles reception, stationary, Ticket Master and general enquiries. She also acts as a personal assistant for the President and the Manager, maintaining their appointment calendars, ensuring meeting papers are up to date, and basically making their lives easier.

| | Communications & Activities Team (winners of the 2011 chair derby) Senior Communications Advisor: James Raffan Responsible for supervising the Activities Coordinator, the Clubs Coordinator, the Graphic Designer and Nexus Team, James is working towards getting a clearer message of “what we do and why we need to keep doing it” out to anyone who will listen . He is currently in charge of the development and management of the new communications and marketing strategy, including Nexus magazine, websites, Facebook, events and clubs, to develop a greater sense of student life on campus.
Clubs Coordinator: Dianne Sweeney With a network of over 60 affiliated clubs and representing approximately 4,000 WSU members, clubs are an active contributing factor to campus culture, reflecting all cultural and recreational pursuits of our students. Dianne is the sole person overseeing these clubs, and is responsible for the affiliation process.
Graphic Design: Dave Nixon Dave is the WSU and Nexus graphic designer. He designs and formats all our publications including the magazine, diary, wall-planner, brochures, posters and websites. He commands a tiny army of student intern graphic designers, and has a large say in most other aspects of the Nexus magazine production. Nexus Editor:Arthur Robinson Art is the Editor of Nexus. He’s responsible for coordinating all contributions to Nexus, ensuring we produce a lively, informative, shocking, gripping, and entertaining magazine each week. A contributor since way back, Art has seen many versions of Nexus, and knows the university community in and out.
Reporter:Jimmy “Olsen” Manning Jimmy is the Campus Reporter. He finds and reports on news stories across the Waikato campus. The nature of student interests as it is, allows him to also seek out ‘quirky’ news stories from across the globe – anything to gain attention and chuckle from the aimless eye of bored students. .

Advertiser Tony Arkell Tony is responsible for securing advertising to help pay for our publications. He also distributes Nexus around campus and into the community each week.
Activities Manager David Garden DG is the man responsible for the five day a week activity calendar on Campus. He is also the man behind the mic every Wednesday at grooves on the green. You should have a chat to him...really. He is also the man behind the big events like O-Week and the one pushing the return of the trolley derby.
Activities Assistant LJ Pijnenburg If DG is the man behind activities then LJ is the face in front of them. Whether your getting coffee or taking part in a poll odds are your talking to LJ. He's back in NZ after a four year athletic scholarship at UMBC which makes him the second best athlete on the WSU staff behind Dave Nixon Frisbee champ. Next time you see him have a chat
