At the WSU you can book tickets to any Ticketmaster event. This is ideal for those of us whose flatmates have used up all the internet for the month, and can’t be bothered waiting ages on the phone. Instead, all you have to do is pop in to the WSU reception, say hello to our friendly receptionist and ask if you can buy a ticket to whichever Ticketmaster show tickles your fancy. Whether you want to trek up to Auckland to see the Walking with the Dinosaurs exhibition, or perhaps want to be enthralled with Dorothy the Dinosaur’s Travelling Show, then come down to the WSU reception today and book your ticket with us!
StudentCard's mission is 'making it cheaper to be a student', by sourcing better than average deals on products and services students already buy. WSU is a registered supplier of these cards, which means that you can buy one at the WSU reception. Once you have one, you get heaps of discounts: well-known ones include $6.90 for large value and traditional pizzas from Domino’s, 10% off all spirits, wines and RTDs at Liquorking, 10% off all full-priced items at Jeanswest, and 5% off student prices for textbooks at Bennetts. For only $20, StudentCards can be great value, if you shop at the right places.
If you like watching movies, think about coming down to the WSU and grabbing yourself an Events Cinema VIP Movie Card. For only $15, you get a free movie, plus $10 movies for a whole year!
Some of you may have noticed that the internet on campus has switched to being provided by Lightwire. Their pricing scheme is a bit different to the old university scheme (where we were charged per megabyte) so it may end up saving some of us some money. In any case, the way Lightwire works is that you prepay your internet usage - though most students are automatically entitled to a ‘free’ 1GB per month. The good news of all this is you can actually buy a Lightwire top-up card from the WSU reception! So if you don’t have a credit or debit card, and want to buy some more internet credit, come and see us today.
Naked Bus is excellent for those of us who live close to the uni, as they actually have a stop outside Gate 2A (by Bryant Hall and Student Village). If you want to go on an exciting bus trip, then WSU can book this for you.
